Date Of Birth: May 20, 1925
Date Of Death: July 1, 2013
Ella Mae Bowman Kindred was born in East Bernstadt, Kentucky and passed away on July 1, 2013 – but only from this life. Her eternal life has just begun. She was 88 years old.
Of the many things it is important to know about Ella Mae, the most important is that she lived for the glory of her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was also a devoted wife to Donald Kindred, who passed away in April of 1991, and a loving mother to four children, Reed, Donell, Donna and Tim. Ella Mae had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In this life she served others in many ways, at church; as a school bus driver; catering wedding receptions for friends and family; and offering hospitality to neighbors, friends and missionaries from around the world.
Ella Mae had a deep love for God. It showed itself most clearly in her study of His word and the question she asked loved ones and strangers alike – “if you died tonight, would you know for sure that you would go to heaven.â€? Her response to any answer other than a sincere “yesâ€? was to tell them how to become a child of God, and often to pray with them to do just that.
And it was her prayers that showed just how much she loved – praying in every way, at all times, for all things, for each member of her family, for any friend in need, and any stranger who asked. Her prayers accomplished much. We thank God for the life and love of Ella Mae Kindred.
Visitation will be at Hope Church, 2500 East 98th Street, Indianapolis from 10am -12pm on Saturday, July 6. A funeral service will follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hope Church Missions Fund. Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
